Session ID#: 35377
Session Description:
Climate change is an increasingly urgent issue that will impact students and the public throughout their lives and careers. AGU programs for the past few years have shared promising results on how to improve public understandings; however, we have yet to establish best practices or sustain large-scale collective action. This session will examine papers presenting research results, the application of findings or outlines of current practice on projects that improve climate change literacy. Providing students and citizens with the perspective and skills to address challenges to teaching about climate often requires instructional approaches from a variety of disciplines. Papers in this session will share faculty experiences, resources or lessons learned and shed light on the foundations of misconceptions and barriers to knowledge and action. This session aims to identify, synergize, and validate on-going research and education efforts while challenging one another to determine how to advance the field.
