Session Description:
Field experiences with supplementing classroom instruction, can be an important pathway for engaging students in the earth sciences. Effective engagement is critically important given the interest in encouraging STEM fields worldwide. We welcome submissions broadly focusing on tools which enhance both experiences and the fundamentals of earth science. These could include, but are not limited to: 1) field trips for college level classes; 2) field-based classes (summer term and others) for college students; 3) REU programs; 4) field trips and field classes for graduate level students; and 5) professional development programs for teachers or other professional groups. We also encourage submissions of novel uses of technology and specific case studies.
