Session Description:
The use of unoccupied airborne systems (UAS) in support of hydrologic, geologic, and geophysical investigations is growing rapidly. The ability of UAS to efficiently acquire high-resolution geo-referenced airborne data with little or no environmental impact is driving innovations in UAS platforms, sensor, and data analytics.
In this session, we focus on advances in the development and application of UAS that contribute to improved characterization and understanding of hydrologic systems and processes. Of specific interest is the development and demonstration of novel geophysical and other types of sensors and innovative data processing and interpretive techniques. We welcome examples of UAS applications related to all aspects of hydrology, hydrogeology, and hydroecology including characterization, modeling, and the identification and assessment of hydrologic processes.
