Session Description:
Grassland, an important forage source for livestock around the world, is greatly disturbed by both climate and management practices. Depending on the disturbance types, timing, duration, and intensity, their impacts on grassland are different. The interaction of management practices and climate could generate more complex impacts on grassland phenology, carbon fluxes, landscapes etc. Many approaches can be used to assess the impacts of climate and management practices including PhenoCam, eddy covariance, satellite remote sensing, modeling etc. Combining these techniques can help us better understand these impacts. This session invite submissions that using remote sensing and/or eddy covariance techniques to quantify the impacts of climate and managements on grassland. We welcome studies that explore how to use the remote sensing and/or eddy covariance method or their combination with modelling approach to investigate the dynamics of grassland phenology, landscape, carbon fluxes etc., and to quantify the interactions of managements and climate.
