Geological Constraints on Coastal Evolution and Morphodynamics Posters

Session Description:
Recognition of the fundamental role of the geological framework in coastal morphodynamics has increased over the past two decades, with significant contributions highlighting the importance of geological constraints on dune, beach and nearshore dynamics and evolution. Developments in geophysical techniques, numerical modelling approaches and data analysis have contributed to an improved understanding of coastal behaviour in the presence of geological constraints, but significant challenges remain.
This session invites contributions focussing on the role of geological framework in coastal morphodynamics, including field-based investigations, exploratory modelling, technological developments, as well as stratigraphic and sedimentary analysis of coastal evolution. We welcome studies across a wide range of spatial and temporal scales, from storms to long-term (Quaternary) coastal evolution, and from a variety of coastal sedimentary environments, including dunes, barriers, lagoons and estuaries.
