Session Description:
Infrasonic and atmospheric acoustic signals have been increasingly utilized for national and global security applications including detonation detection, nuclear forensics, and a number of other topics as both a stand-alone capability and a supplement to seismic, hydroacoustic, and other phenomenologies. The models describing seismoacoustic sources and propagation effects have been steadily advancing so that infrasonic signatures can be more easily leveraged for analysis. We invite submissions detailing infrasound, seismoacoustic, and other multiphenomenological research relevant to explosion monitoring, nuclear forensics, and other global security topics. Submissions detailing civil and scientific applications of data from the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty’s International Monitoring System that help improve knowledge of the technologies and hence advance the verification regime are also of interest. Presentations detailing existing and emerging source and propagation models as well as relevant signal analysis techniques and instrumentation are welcome.
