Session Description:
Gravity and magnetic studies are among the few investigations that can be carried out from space and which give us insight into the internal structure of a planetary body. Surface or aerial measurements resolve shorter length-scales which are unobtainable from orbit, making their joint use and individual interpretation a challenge. Both the gravitational and the magnetic field have related properties and are therefore amenable to similar techniques for analysis. Their results convey information about complementing physical properties, rendering their co-interpretation highly beneficial. In this session we invite contributions that use gravitational and/or magnetic data collected from space, the air, or from the surface, to study the structure and history of Earth and other planets and moons, or contributions that present methods to analyze magnetic and/or gravitational data on a global, regional, or local scale.
