Novel Data Analysis Techniques for Big Data Applications in Marine Science Posters

Session Description:
In the age of big data from satellite missions, in situ campaigns, Earth System model simulations and high resolution reanalysis products, techniques such as machine learning, pattern recognition, data mining and other statistical methods are becoming widely used. The utility of these methods has been demonstrated in many areas of Earth Science, and is now also becoming apparent in ocean physics, air-sea interactions, ocean biogeochemical cycles, and marine ecology. The objectives of this forum are to assess the progress made to date, present developing research themes, foster collaboration and organize the community around new coordinated efforts.
We invite abstracts that involve data science techniques and their application in analysis, synthesis and new product developments in the area of ocean sciences. The session is open for submissions in the field of ocean physics, chemistry and/or biology but also those connecting the spheres, such as air-sea and air-land interactions.
