B33L:
Advancing Ecosystem Accounting and Ecosystem Service Monitoring Through Earth Observations Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session

Session ID#: 49307

Session Description:
In the face of unprecedented global environmental change, the development of informed decision making tools to preserve natural resources has never been more needed. Ecosystem Service Modelling and Ecosystem Accounting have provided a framework to achieve this end, but many methodological issues still limit on the ground application. Earth observations provide unparalleled ability to monitor physical and biological change at increasing spatial, temporal, and spectral resolution. This session will highlight efforts to integrate remote sensing tools into standardized Ecosystem Service Modelling and Ecosystem Accounting systems that hope to build a common global language for combating the destruction of irreplaceable natural resources.
