Urban Flooding: Data, Modeling, Rainfall, and Impacts II Posters

Session Description:
Urban flooding is a major threat to cities around the world and may be caused by a combination of heavy rainfall, insufficient local conveyance system (sewers, streams, and ditches) capacity, and high coastal water level events. Urban flooding studies require high-resolution datasets and hydrologic models along with consideration of human interventions. Humans both influence and suffer the impacts of urban flooding. We are soliciting abstracts from the multiple disciplines which study the complex urban water and human system. Examples of relevant work may include: risk assessment, spatial and temporal variability in urban stormwater hydrology, data collection strategies, heavy rainfall analysis and prediction, environmental social justice of urban flooding, flood mitigation strategies, and health impacts of flooding.
