Advances in Integrating Novel Monitoring Data with Distributed Hydrologic Models Posters

Session Description:
Recent advances in sensor technologies and sensor networks are pushing the boundaries of our measurement capabilities. The availability of low-cost sensor systems and remotely-sensed, innovatively-traced, crowd-sourced and traditional sources of data are positively impacting data-intensive water research. Distributed hydrologic models that integrate physical, chemical, and ecological processes across scales and hydrologic domains are being developed, refined and tested to gain insights into complex water systems. The aim of this session is to bring together researchers interested in advancing all aspects of hydrologic science by fully exploiting new types of data (e.g., hard and soft data, citizen science approaches) and their assimilation in distributed hydrologic models. We invite abstracts that report recent developments in water quality and quantity in catchments and their sub-units with an emphasis on the integration between models and data, in particular, studies that cross disciplinary boundaries and that enhance process understanding at unprecedented scales and resolution.
