Elastic Properties of Earth Materials and Their Application in Seismology and Geodynamics II Posters

Session Description:
Our understanding of the large-scale structure and composition of the Earth's interior comes, in a large part, from the interpretation of seismic velocities, based on the elastic properties of candidate materials from high-pressure/high-temperature experiments and theoretical calculations. These two approaches complement each other, in that experiments provide anchor points for theoretical predictions and theoretical calculations are able to explore ranges of pressures and temperatures that are difficult to access using experimental methods. In this session, we invite novel experimental and computational contributions on the elastic properties of Earth materials as well as on their application in seismic interpretation and geodynamical modeling spanning from Earth's crust to core.
