Session Description:
Current and projected changes in water security risk across Sub-Saharan Africa has driven scientific study and knowledge advances in regard to water availability, accessibility and sustainability.  Often times, research has been conducted on hydrographic units in isolation.  Compelling arguments have been advanced indicating that translational science discovery requires multi-spatial and interdisciplinary research.  This session seeks to bring together engaged researchers conducting multidisciplinary research to evaluate water security issues in Sub-Saharan Africa.  In this session, we hope to bring together a diverse community of researchers to discuss threats and opportunities to water security in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as techniques and outcomes of water security research.  Presenters and invited speakers to the session would come from diverse scientific backgrounds to cross-cut the intersection of hydrogeology, climatic sciences, social-economic dimensions and public health.
