Session Description:
Evaluation, like science, stands for evidence-based claims through thoughtfully designed rigorous studies of what works and how it works. This session invites presentations related to evaluation of education, public outreach, and communication programs. We welcome presentations from evaluators and their projects to share their designs, models, data collection methods and measures, and results. Sharing the systematic, scientific approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of education efforts is crucial to improving our practice and re-assuring funders and the public of the merit of that work. We welcome presentations that are exploring innovative approaches to collecting data in informal environments, teasing out effects in complex interventions, ways of involving stakeholders in design and data collection, and methods of communicating results.
