From Genes to Ecosystems: Linking Structural and Functional Genomics to the Structure and Function of the Entire Ecosystem Posters

Session Description:
Increased temperatures may enhance the microbial decomposition of sequestered soil organic matter (SOM) in wetlands and the production of greenhouse gases. The exact mechanisms by which these transformations take place remain poorly understood. Recent technical advances in high-throughput sequencing, and expression profiling, coupled with advances in SOM characterization techniques and bioinformatics approaches, holds great promise for understanding the components and processes of wetland ecosystems in particular gene-environment interactions with unprecedented resolution. This session invites experimentalists whose research utilizes multidisciplinary approaches that integrates omics measurements with geochemistry and flux measurements to link structural, and functional genomics to the structure and function of the entire ecosystem. Submissions from all ecosystems are encouraged.
