EP31D:
River Deltas: Sediment Accumulators and Biogeochemical Reactors Posters

Submit an Abstract to this Session

Session ID#: 53159

Session Description:
Fluvial deltaic systems are important sites of sediment accumulation and maintain important roles in bio-geochemical cycles.  Nevertheless, it remains unclear how physical processes are linked with chemical and biological functions.  This session seeks contributions that explore depositional patterns shaping deltaic form, and controls on deltas as bio-geochemical reactors.  Studies that combine hydrology (fluvial and ocean), sediment movement, subsidence, chemistry, and biological functions are solicited. As is standard custom: field, numerical, and laboratory-based contributions are welcome.
