Coastal Wetland Resilience and Vulnerability to Disturbances Posters

Session Description:
Coastal wetland ecosystems are highly dynamic and are constantly adjusting to disturbances. Their response to various disturbance regimes however, can vary significantly across different spatial and temporal scales. Thus, it is important to understand how various wetland ecosystems respond to changing environmental conditions resulting largely from climate- and human-induced disturbances. This session aims to bring together studies aiming to map, model, monitor and assess coastal wetland response to disturbances over a range of temporal and spatial scales. In particular, we invite contributions from remote sensing and field based studies to improve our understanding of coastal wetland response to climate- and human-induced disturbances (i.e. sea level rise, hurricanes, storms, floods, LULC conversions) at variable spatial and temporal scales. We encourage submissions from studies examining various ecological processes relating to biological, physical and/or chemical interactions within coastal ecosystems.
