Applications of GRACE/GRACE-FO Missions in Terrestrial Hydrology I

Session Description:
The utilization of Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite measurements in conjunction with other observations and models has provided a unique insight into the spatiotemporal variability of water storage across regional, national, and global scales. However, there are still significant opportunities for new and innovative applications of GRACE for monitoring change in water storage. This session invites presentations from studies that advance or enable the utilization of GRACE (and GRACE Follow-On) measurements in combination with models and/or observations to: 1) demonstrate utility in measuring changing water resources such as groundwater, soil moisture, or snow, 2) improve understanding of water cycle extremes such as droughts and floods, 3) advance numerical modeling applications, and 4) explore new interdisciplinary applications such as terrestrial ecology studies. While presentations on global to regional scales are encouraged, research conducted where publicly-available data is available for evaluation and cross-comparison are most encouraged.
