Advances in Subsurface Characterization Using Innovative Methods of Geophysics and Hydrogeology I

Session Description:
Properties and dynamic processes of the subsurface are governed by interactions of physical, biological, and geochemical processes occurring in a highly heterogeneous and variably saturated media. Accurate characterization of subsurface continues to be a challenge. Development of methods in the fields of hydrology, hydrogeology, and geophysics is essential to further our monitoring and modeling capabilities across multiple scales, which in turn improves our understanding of subsurface properties and processes.
This session showcases novel advances in subsurface characterization with various geophysical, hydrologic, and imaging techniques. We encourage contributions on time-lapse monitoring and imaging, heat and solute tracer experiments, aquifer characterization with traditional and direct-push technologies, and emerging methods from the fields of biogeophysics and hydrogeophysics. We welcome contributions that involves theoretical and modelling work from pore to regional scales, as well as both laboratory and field experiments covering from core to catchment scales.
