Magnetic Properties of Ancient Rocks: Characterization and Geodynamic Interpretation

Session Description:
Magnetic studies of Precambrian rocks allow us to study the paleopositions of ancient cratons, proposing ancient supercontinents in the process, magnetic properties of evolving crust, and characteristics of the Earth’s early magnetic field.  In this session we welcome submissions on paleomagnetic studies, paleointensity investigations, and rock and mineral magnetic properties of ancient rocks.  Although studies from the Canadian Shield are encouraged, abstracts from Precambrian units around the world are most welcome.
