Session Description:
The sustainable use of forest biomass for bioenergy presents an opportunity to address climate change by reducing fossil fuel emissions. Changing practices in forest management, wood-use, and also post-consumer wood products can also result in lower emissions to the atmosphere.
This session focuses on the quantification of climate change mitigation for wood-use and forest management at the landscape scale. Wood-use includes using wood energy for substituting fossil fuels or using wood for substituting concrete or other products.  Forest management can include adjusting rotation ages, reducing logging wastes, eliminating on-site residue burning, and/or increasing growth.
