The Baffin Bay and Labrador Sea Corridor: Marine Geology, Paleoceanography, and Role in the Land-Ocean Climate System II Posters

Session Description:
The Baffin Bay and Labrador Sea are subpolar basins in the northwest North Atlantic playing an important role in the climate system as they are one of the main export routes of freshwater from Greenland, northeastern Canada and the Arctic to the North Atlantic Ocean.  They are also sedimentary basins containing pelagic and terrigenous inputs that yield geological archives of ocean and climate conditions in addition to glacial history in a critical area with regard to deep-water formation and continental ice dynamics over North America and Greenland. In this context, the aim of the session is to present recent advances about marine geology and climate history of the Baffin Bay and Labrador Sea at time scales ranging from the onset of the Northern Hemisphere glaciation to recent instabilities in Labrador Sea Water formation.
