MPOWIR – Past, Present and Future

Session Description:
Mentoring Physical Oceanography Women to Increase Retention (MPOWIR) has been active for nearly a decade offering mentoring through conferences and small groups as well as internship opportunities.  Where should MPOWIR head in the future?  An overview of MPOWIR and an assessment of its impact by a panel of program participants will set the stage for a lively discussion of how MPOWIR can best influence retention of women into the future. All members of the physical oceanographic community and related disciplines, regardless of gender or career stage, are encouraged to participate.  Lunch will be provided on a first come basis.
