Translating Arctic Ocean Science to Policy: Exploring the value of Ocean Observations for Policy and Decision Making

Session ID#: 29982

Session Description:
Scientists offer value to the policy world through information that supports effective policy and decision making, but there is often a disconnect between this potential and its realization. To explore ways science can inform policy and decision making, this session will feature presenters with policy, scientific, and other backgrounds to look at areas of rapid change and urgent need in the Arctic. Discussion will center around community-based and standard scientific observations that can and do inform policy at all levels, and how scientists and policy makers can work together to overcome the disconnect.
