CLIVAR’s Course: Accomplishments and Future Science Priorities

Session ID#: 36022

Session Description:
The International and US CLIVAR programs coordinate research and the community to advance understanding of the ocean’s role in the climate system, with a focus on variability, predictability, and change. In 2016, CLIVAR — a component of the World Climate Research Programme — celebrated two decades of achievements, and in 2018 the US CLIVAR program will do the same. During this town hall, International CLIVAR will present their new Science Plan, which provides direction on future science priorities. US CLIVAR will also showcase accomplishments and progress over their 20-year history, while identifying current and future research challenges. Participants attending this town hall will have the opportunity to engage the programs on their direction, learn about ways to collaborate, and celebrate in the progress.
