Partnership building to advance the integrated global in-situ Ocean Observing Systems
Partnership building to advance the integrated global in-situ Ocean Observing Systems
Session ID#: 36085
Session Description:
This town hall highlights the critical need to strengthen partnerships within and across observing networks to enhance the efficiency and capability of these networks in order to enable comprehensive global coverage for a coordinated, fit-for-purpose, and coherent ocean observing system. Alliances of established global, regional, and thematic observing networks are already working in partnership to develop and exploit sustained observations and create information services.
We invite ocean observation network members and stakeholders to a discussion of observation requirements for in situ systems in the global oceans with a focus on observing networks, societal drivers, and Essential Ocean and Climate Variables across the full spectrum of physical, biogeochemical and ecosystem state and dynamics within the context of existing national capabilities, gaps and opportunities.
