Launch of new collaboration website for ocean acidification community

Session ID#: 36176

Session Description:
This town hall will be the public launch of a new collaboration website focused on ocean and coastal acidification.  This website will serve all stakeholders interested in the issue, from researchers and aquaculturists to resource managers. It allows users to share resources, access up-to-date information, and interact with others across disciplines and geographic regions. The heart of the website is interactive, self-forming “teams” that use the website’s collaboration tools to focus on specific topics. Team activities will serve as a way to advance efforts related to acidification, enhance stakeholder interactions, and share knowledge. This town hall welcomes all who are interested in ocean and coastal acidification, and invites the community to learn about how the new collaboration website will facilitate interactions and spark new collaborations and learning opportunities. We will give a short tour of the website, highlighting its functionalities through the site’s initial content.  We will also show attendees how to sign up for the website, personalize their account settings, and join existing teams. Much of the town hall will be a social gathering for those interested in ocean and coastal acidification, providing time to sign up for the website and brainstorm how it will facilitate current efforts.
