Science Communications Lab II.  Yes, LAB:  Make Your Science Communication More Effective

Session Description:
Improve communications skills so you can present your work more effectively. Hollywood entertainment industry traditionally the source of both innovation and perfection of narrative elements. Same approach applicable for communication of science to all audiences, from general public to fellow academics. 

 

Led by Brian Palermo, actor and improv instructor (e.g., The Social Network, Jay Leno Show, Groundlings Theatre, LA).  Like previous workshops with Palermo (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017) and marine biologist-turned filmmaker Randy Olson (2010-2013); organized by Jonathan Sharp (University of Delaware) and Adrienne Sponberg (ASLO).

 

Sunday afternoon before meeting; all invited; co-sponsored by Student, Early Careers Activities Committee. A “talk with interactive experiential elements”. Complementary lunch will be available on first-come basis (13:00 – 14:00).
