Challenges and Opportunities in Marine Education Through Information Technology

In several developing countries of the North and South part of the globe, there is significant scope for enhancing contributions of marine and coastal fisheries and aquaculture production for food supplies and poverty alleviation. The Food Security through Marine food resources will be significant in achieving the targets for the Sustainable development goals by 2030. The marine productivity can be increased by providing marine education and literacy programs in coastal region. Today the information and Communication Technologies are widely used for public education and Literacy. This poster Presentation focuses on challenges and opportunities in Ocean, Marine and Coastal Education through Information and Communication Technology. This poster presentation highlights the case studies on application of ICTS and Media Information. technology for sustaining higher and technical education in Marine Science. This presentation discusses the success and failure of the ICTS for marine and coastal education.This poster also bring the lessons learned from past in Marine science education through online computer modules to train the local human resources for increasing the marine productivity.
