Abstract:
The West Coast Ocean Alliance (WCOA) is a regional ocean partnership focused on enhanced management and coordination for the ocean along the West Coast. This regional ocean partnership brings together federal and state agencies and tribal governments to advance a regional vision. Tribal engagement has been a key focus for the WCOA. In this presentation, the WCOA Tribal Caucus Coordinator will provide an overview of tribal engagement to date, efforts of the tribal caucus to enhance communication and consultation with federal and state agencies, and outcomes from an exchange with First Nations in British Columbia.
