Abstract:
An exhibit on space weather has been developed in a partnership between the the Children’s Discovery Museum of West Virginia and the Department of Physics and Astronomy and Curriculum & Instruction/Literacy Studies Department at West Virginia University. The exhibit includes hands-on activities that explore plasmas, magnets, and electromagnetic induction. There is also text about solar eruptions, aurora, and the harmful effects of space weather on Earth’s technological infrastructure. In this poster, we discuss the production of the exhibit and results of its implementation.
