Experience-Based Learning: Enhancing Earth Science Education by Expanding the Classroom III
Session ID#: 10493
Session Description:
Field experiences in the earth sciences, supplementing classroom instruction, can be an important pathway for engaging students/participants in those disciplines. Effective engagement is critically important given the push to encourage STEM fields worldwide. We welcome submissions broadly focusing on tools for effective engagement in real world field experiences. These could include, but are not limited to: 1) field trips for college level classes; 2) field-based classes (summer term and others) for college students; 3) REU programs; 4) field trips and field classes for graduate level students; and 5) professional development programs for teachers or other adult/professional groups. We also encourage submissions of novel uses of technology and case studies.
