K-12 Education/Outreach: Effective Partnerships Between Scientists and K-12 Teachers/Informal Educators Including Authentic Student Research I Posters

Session Description:
This session is dedicated to sharing education/outreach efforts that are the product of scientists collaborating with K-12 classroom teachers and/or informal educators. We also want to highlight partnerships that lead to authentic student research. Scientists and K-12 teachers/informal educators contributing to this session are encouraged to share their experience developing, implementing, and/or assessing these efforts. The session goal is to provide a balanced perspective in order to inform future education/outreach initiatives. K-12 education/outreach activities representing full spectrum of AGU sections and focus groups are welcomed. Likewise, activities that address a wide range of pressing needs are solicited, including strategies to support sustainable programs (e.g. STEM Networks), shifting K-12 education reform efforts (e.g. NGSS, CCSS, revised College Board assessments), participation of historically underrepresented groups, as well as research-/evidence-based and broad impact funding policies.
