Climate Literacy: Reaching Broad Audiences Posters

Session Description:
Few issues facing our society are more urgent than reducing communities’ vulnerability to climate impacts and preparing for the demands of transitioning to a low-carbon economy. Yet most communities, schools, higher education institutions, and informal learning centers are not prepared to educate about appropriate actions to address climate change. The nationwide network of climate change education providers has developed many approaches to advance climate literacy and promote actions to address climate change in a wide variety of sectors. This session invites descriptions of programs that increase the resilience of cities, foster professional training for a low-carbon workforce, increase climate literacy and leverage partnerships to engage citizens in responding to climate change. We invite posters from climate education providers to share information, models, and new program designs for increasing climate literacy across broad audiences.
